about
GERARD “JERRY” COMPANION

Proven Leadership. Deep Roots.
Bold Vision for West Orange.

Jerry has spent a lifetime building up West Orange—not just through service, but through leadership. From our classrooms to our community halls, he’s been a steady, trusted force for progress.

  • As a respected figure in West Orange Schools, Jerry supports our community and educational excellence.
  • Through the Police Athletic League, he built bridges between youth and law enforcement, fostering trust and opportunity.
  • At St. Joseph Church, his faith-driven service brought comfort and connection to countless families.
  • As Chancellor of the Knights of Columbus, he led with integrity, mobilizing volunteers and resources to meet local needs.

Now, in retirement, Jerry continues to lead by example—channeling his creativity into the arts and earning accolades as an award-winning artist, recognized by County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo in the Annual Essex County Senior Citizens Juried Art Show.

But Jerry’s vision doesn’t stop there. He’s stepping forward to serve on the West Orange Town Council, bringing decades of experience, empathy, and strategic thinking to the table. His leadership is rooted in action, not ambition—driven by a desire to uplift every resident, from seniors to students, families to frontline workers.

Jerry leads with heart. He listens. He acts. He delivers. Let’s elect a leader who knows West Orange—and knows how to move it forward.
